Coaching is the willingness to reflect; to live an examined life - it is living a life of intention, with intention. Without that intentionality we often lose our way. We lose sight of our purpose, our dreams. We can feel stuck or unfulfilled.
When we partner with a coach we are committing to the process of intentionally holding space for all the thoughts, feelings and emotions. Without judgment. We bring to that space the wisdom and experience of our adult self AND the wonder and curiosity of the child within. We explore the how, why, what of our life with intention all so that we may find our place, our joy and our peace and purpose - our “it”.
It invites us to allow stillness into our life so that we may access our inner knowing and guidance to be heard. We then let our deepest knowing Self acknowledge and dream up what is best for us, we create a plan and then go out and bring that best version of our life TO LIFE.
In summary, coaching is MAGIC.

Depends on what you mean by woo.
If you mean using and engaging with our right brains, well then, YES, coaching is a little woo ; ). If you are suggesting there is no merit to it and it is all fluff, then I would say no.
Lots of great literature to support its use. See Resources below.

Absolutely! I coach humans who want to live their lives more joyously, find peace, and love themselves whole. Human brains are all very similar. My lived professional experiences are in the world of medicine and so physicians and other health care workers may find that we are a fit through our shared understanding of that medical world. But a lot of the same topics - perfectionism, feeling not enough, burnout, unhappiness, the go-go-go mentality, lack of harmony between life & work - these topics (and more!) are felt by people in all walks of life.
Heck, I even coach my teen (when she asks for my help. No coaching without permission).

Wherever they are! ZOOM IS SO MUCH FUN!
One wonderful thing that came out of the pandemic is the availability of online meetings! I can meet clients in person in upstate NY - AND - I also have had clients all over the U.S. and clients around the globe from Thailand to Switzerland, Germany to the UK. via ZOOM. I
It is up to the individual whether they would like the camera on or off so that it is similar to a phone call.
I believe in a supportive environment that makes things convenient and comfortable for you - the client.

No, here, I am a Coach. I will not be offering medical advice, caring for patients, or practicing medicine in this role.
-
Yup.
First of all, every Pro Athlete has a few of them - one coach for each facet of his or her game. So there is that.
And Executives in the C-suites have had coaches for decades to up-level their performances.
But for physicians? We are just catching on AND we are so used to EBM and really want to see the data, so here you go:
